Maintenance

The job the fitter already has a name for.

Maintenance is a calendar, a list of work orders, preventive plans, MTBF, and the cost of the work. The people who do it sign in as maintenance. An alarm does not wait in a chat until someone retypes it into a job.

What is on the maintenance desk

The calendar is where planned work sits. Work orders are the jobs. Preventive plans are the ones that should not wait for a failure. MTBF is how long a machine actually runs between those failures. Maintenance cost is the shillings, not a note in the margin of the shift book.

Roles are admin, maintenance and operator, and MFA is required for every user. A maintenance login is a person, which is the same rule as an acknowledgement: Tap a card to acknowledge it. The person's name is stored on the alert, not a role code. From the same card you can Resolve it, or open Ask about this.

From the alarm to the job

An alarm opens a maintenance work order on its own, assigned to the shift, instead of waiting for someone to retype it. The vibration that is already critical on the Floor priority queue, or a machine that has gone to fault, stopped or offline, is the kind of event that should arrive as a job with an owner. Machine state on the floor is running, idle, stopped, fault, maintenance or offline.

Ask copilot can be pointed at the same night. One of the prompts is “Why is OEE down?”, and the answers are limited to this plant’s production, downtime, energy, maintenance and alerts. Answers use this plant's production, downtime, energy, maintenance, and alerts. Advice only.

Bring the failure you actually pay for. We will open the calendar and the work order, not a slide of a spanner.
